Why Choose SafeWise as Your Health and Safety Consultants in Worcester?

SafeWise work with businesses across Worcester and Worcestershire on the practical end of health and safety. Getting people trained and certificated, keeping the assessments current, and standing behind you as the competent person when a client or an inspector asks who does your safety. Most of what Worcestershire asks us for is training, so that is where this page starts.

Working at Height, Scaffolding and Access

Falls from height remain the most common cause of fatal injury at work in Great Britain, 31 of the 126 worker deaths recorded in 2025/26 according to HSE, and the paperwork around access equipment is where a lot of businesses come unstuck. We run scaffold inspection training for the person who has to sign the register, PASMA for alloy tower assembly and dismantling, IPAF for powered access platform operators, and a combined ladders and steps user and inspection course. If you put people on a tower, a MEWP or a scaffold, somebody has to be trained to inspect it, and it has to be recorded.

Fire Safety Training

Fire marshal training covers what your nominated people are actually expected to do, which is not the same as knowing where the extinguishers are. It sits alongside the fire risk assessment your premises need by law, and the two work together. Plenty of businesses have the assessment and nobody trained to act on it.

The Rest of the Course List

Beyond height and fire we run the three day first aid at work course, its two day refresher, and emergency first aid; IOSH Managing Safely; abrasive wheels; manual handling; asbestos awareness; portable appliance testing; risk assessment and method statement writing; confined space entry and awareness; and the CITB site safety schemes, SSSTS and SMSTS. There is an online platform for the subjects that suit it. The whole list is on our training courses page.

The Support Behind the Certificates

Certificates on their own do not make a business compliant. Behind the training there is an advisor who writes the assessments, keeps the policy current, inspects the sites and answers the phone when something happens.

  • Competent person cover, so the duty is met without a full time appointment
  • Risk assessments and method statements for the work you actually do
  • Method statements written for the job, not adapted from somebody else's
  • Site and premises inspections, with the findings written down
  • Fire risk assessments, and the reassessment when the building or the people in it change
  • Accreditation submissions prepared and defended, CHAS, SMAS, Safecontractor, Constructionline, CQMS and Altius
  • Training records kept in one place, so you can see what each person holds
  • Unlimited phone and email support from a named advisor

The cover is sold as a membership, either safety on its own or with HR alongside it. Worcestershire businesses ask us about HR more than anything else, so it is worth a look at our HR consultancy in Worcester too.

More About Us arrow

Trained and Recorded:
Somebody has to be qualified to inspect the tower, the ladder or the scaffold, and it has to be written down. We do both halves.

Fire Marshals Who Know the Job:
Not a slideshow about extinguishers. What your nominated people actually do when the alarm goes.

The Certificate Is Not the Point:
Training only counts if the assessments, the policy and the records behind it hold up too.

One Named Advisor:
The same person every time, as often as you need. Included in the membership.
