Face Fit Testing Course (Train the Trainer)
Our Face Fit Testing Course is designed for employers, supervisors and responsible persons who need to carry out face fit testing within their own company. This practical train the trainer course provides the knowledge and skills required to conduct qualitative face fit testing on employees who need to wear tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
The law requires that anyone who wears a tight-fitting dust mask or respirator must be assessed to ensure their RPE fits correctly and provides the level of protection it was designed to achieve. Face fit testing is a key part of complying with HSE requirements and protecting employees from hazardous dusts, fumes and airborne contaminants.
Thousands of workers are estimated to suffer serious health consequences each year due to exposure to hazardous substances. Effective respiratory protection can significantly reduce these risks, but only when the equipment is suitable for the wearer and has been correctly face fit tested.

Face Fit Testing Certificate
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a Face Fit Testing Certificate of Competency.
This certificate demonstrates that the holder has completed qualitative face fit testing training and has been assessed as competent to carry out qualitative face fit testing within their own company.
The face fit certificate provides documented evidence of training and competency, helping employers demonstrate that testing has been carried out by a suitably trained individual. It is particularly valuable for organisations that regularly (remove) issue tight-fitting RPE and need an efficient way to manage ongoing face fit testing requirements.
Please note that this qualification enables delegates to conduct qualitative face fit testing on their own employees. It does not qualify delegates to deliver face fit testing training courses or train other individuals to become face fit testers.
Equipment Requirements
To carry out your own face fit testing after the course, you will need access to a qualitative face fit testing kit. Delegates may bring their own equipment to the course, or a suitable kit can be supplied by SafeWise at an additional cost.
