Dust masks are a common H&S requirement for a range of construction, industrial and agricultural workplaces.
We have put together a guide which outlines the pros and cons of each dusk mask that we offer, to help you choose the right masks for your workers.  All the masks shown offer FFP3 or P3 protection. 

Warrior FFP3 Disposable

Pros – Lightweight. Adjustable Straps, valved to keep the worker cooler. Good face fit pass ratio.

Cons – Disposable, so new one needed at least each shift if dust is a risk, so it can work out costly. Face fit test required. Maximum continual use is one hour.

Worthwhile for agency workers or self-employed workers who are on short duration contracts

Trend Half Face Mask with P3 Filters

Pros – Easily changeable filters, so cheaper overall cost than a disposable. Excellent ventilation, washable and reusable. Stylish, so more likely to get a higher uptake of workers wearing them.

Cons – Higher initial purchase price. Face Fit required. Maximum continual use of one hour.

Worthwhile for workers on longer contracts.

JSP Fore 8 Press to Check

Pros – Easily changeable filters, so cheaper overall cost than a disposable. Good ventilation, washable and reusable. Stylish so more likely to get a higher uptake of workers wearing them. Insisted on by a number of main contractors

Cons – Higher initial purchase price. Face Fit required. Maximum continual use of 1 hour.

Worthwhile for workers on longer contracts.

Trend Airshield Pro Powered Respirator

Pros – Easily changeable filters. No face fit test required. Can be used continually for over 1 hour. Impact resistant visor. Workers do not need to be clean shaven. Inexpensive for an air fed mask. 8 hour battery life. All in one head unit with no pipes or leads.

Cons – Higher initial purchase price. Does not offer the same head protection as a hard hat

Worthwhile for internal trades or external trades that are using a separate cutting station or industrial workers where there is no risk of a head injury

 

JSP Jetstream Powered Respirator

Pros – Easily changeable filters, no face fit test required. Can be used continually for over 1 hour. Impact resistant visor. Workers do not need to be clean shaven. Offers full hard hat protection. 8 hour battery life. All in one unit with no pipes or leads

Cons – Higher initial purchase price.

Worthwhile for construction and industrial workers

Pros – Top of the range. Easily changeable filters, no face fit test required. Can be used continually for over 1 hour. Impact resistant visor. Workers do not need to be clean shaven. Offers full hard hat protection. 8 hour battery life. All in one unit with no pipes or leads

Cons – Expensive.

Worthwhile for construction and industrial workers
