The recent law reforms within the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Act 2023 comes into force on 6th April 2024, meaning all employees have the right to request flexible working from day one of employment.
Previously, employees had to have worked for 26 weeks before making this request.
The permitted number of statutory flexible working requests has been increased from one, to two requests per 12 month period.
Also, the reform decreases the time an employer must respond by, from three months to two months.
